Marriage contract of Shirin Jan, daughter of Mirza the tailor, and Ghulam‘ali, ghulam [servant/slave] of Haji ‘Abd Allah (son of Haji Kalb‘ali), dated July 23, 1858. The mahr is eight tumans plus one-sixth of a house in the Shams Abad neighborhood of Khuzan. A note declares that Haji ‘Abd Allah transferred the ownership of one-sixth of the house to Ghulam‘ali. On verso, dated August 24, 1866: Shirin Jan settled her mahr with Haji Muhammad Baqir Sultan, son of Haji Kalb‘ali from Khuzan, for forty rupees. A group of elders complain to the addressee about how their nomadic tribe is prevented from accessing their winter pastures by Timur Khan's actions. Also, they mention the unacceptable marriage of Zawq ‘Ali’s wife (daughter of Shahnah (sheriff) Ghulam) and Muhammad (son of Shahnah (sheriff) Haydar), and ask the addressee for justice.

Mahd-i ‘Ulya writes about sending Qurban‘ali Bayg with cucumber and eggplant pickles, sour cherries, and qavut; her sickness and a visit by Mirza Hasani Hakim, Mirza ‘Abd al-Vahhab from Farahzad, and Mirza Riza. She mentions sending back a girl, whom she had considered for marriage to the addressee, to her mother after learning about her seizures and sends the ring meant for her to Nasir al-Din Shah to give to ‘Ayishah Khanum.

Woman's murder, 1911
The body of the daughter of Haji Mulla Bashi from Taliqan was found by police. Her husband, Aqa Mirza Ibrahim from Taliqan, is arrested for her murder. He had been suspicious of his wife's relationship with his nephew, Hamid Allah, and asked her father to settle the mahr and agree to divorce. The second piece of news from a few days later is about Hamid Allah's arrest.

The collection, spanning from 1923 to 1961, includes letters sent during her time in Europe, letters sent back in Iran, and letters sent during Qamar Taj's stay in London.
